Roger Bird has been hooked on roleplaying games since his father bought a boxed set one Christmas.
Roger has worked as a Chief Financial Officer in the technology and education sectors and has previously been an auditor, a university lecturer and Company Secretary of a healthcare business. His first paid work involved singing on the West End stage in London. He has been involved in politics locally as an elected councillor, nationally as General Secretary of a political party and overseas at the European Parliament.
Several characters in “Vote Vampire” are derived from roleplaying game characters which Roger has played over the years: Flaxen, Montrachet, Marvexio, Runsus, Hijinx, Mylar, Ethema, Aspreyna and Lamar. Perancia the warlock was created by Roger’s wife Julie, who played the character successfully in the Dungeons & Dragons adventure Curse of Strahd.
